    New name, same mission \u2013 MUNS.<\/strong><\/p>

    The change of name to the International University of Social Sciences, Medicine and Law (MUNS) reflects a new stage in the institution's development, but does not mean a break with its achievements to date. It is a conscious new organisational and image-building initiative<\/strong> that emphasises the scale of ambition, international horizons and a modern approach to education, while maintaining the unchanged mission: to serve people through knowledge, health and law<\/strong>.<\/p>

    As Heraclitus wrote: \u2018The only constant in life is change.\u2019 The rebranding of MUNS is not a change in values, but rather their reinforcement and clearer communication to the world<\/strong>. Our coat of arms is not a marketing ploy \u2013 it is a declaration of identity, direction and responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>

    MUNS is not an American university. However, we consciously draw on the world's best academic models<\/strong>, because good models have no geography. Through prestigious connotations and classic visual codes, we set high standards for ourselves and our students and listeners<\/strong>, aiming for the standards of the world's top universities in the European reality.<\/p>

    The shield \u2013 the foundation of identity and intellectual sovereignty<\/strong><\/p>

    For centuries, the coat of arms has symbolised the protection of values, continuity of tradition and the responsibility of public trust institutions<\/strong>. In academic heraldry, it is not a decoration \u2013 it is a sign of stability and the seriousness of the mission. The MUNS coat of arms means:<\/p>

      • protecting the value of science,<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

        <\/p>

          • continuity of university tradition,<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

            <\/p>

              • sovereignty of thought and intellectual independence.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

                In a world of information overload and a deficit of meaning, the shield remains a symbol of order, responsibility and methodology<\/strong>. Aristotle wrote that the goal of science is not to know more, but to understand better. The MUNS coat of arms is a visual representation of this principle.<\/p>

                The lettering of the name MUNS was designed in the style of a classic, block academic antiqua font, characteristic of the world's elite research universities. For decades, this typeface has communicated:<\/p>

Authority does not come from decoration, but from long-term consistency between what is declared and what is delivered in practice. Prestige is not a promise \u2013 it is the result of standards.<\/strong><\/p>

                                The golden globe in the centre of the coat of arms signifies:<\/p>

Immanuel Kant wrote about \u201cworld citizenship\u201d as the highest form of moral maturity. The globe in the MUNS coat of arms is a reminder of this very idea.<\/p>

                                            The central composition of the coat of arms is based on four pillars of science:<\/p>

                                                symbol of a human being as an individual and part of a community, field of psychology, pedagogy, sociology, communication and management,<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

                                                  • caduceus \u2013 medical sciences <\/strong>
                                                    a symbol of health, life, rescue, medical ethics and responsibility for human well-being,<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

                                                      • scales \u2013 legal sciences <\/strong>
                                                        symbol of law, justice, social balance, the rule of law and public ethics,<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

                                                          • molecular structure \u2013 exact and interdisciplinary sciences <\/strong>
                                                            a symbol of innovation, research, technology and the convergence of fields: law\u2013medicine\u2013technology\u2013society.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

                                                                                    Scientia (Latin)<\/strong> means knowledge based on reason, research, evidence and scientific method. It is not intuitive or accidental knowledge. Scientia is confirmed, well-established and systematic<\/strong> knowledge \u2013 the kind that builds a solid foundation for the development of civilisation.<\/p>

                                                                                    Salus<\/strong> means not only physical health, but also safety, balance and human well-being in a broad, holistic sense.<\/p>

                                                                                    Iustitia<\/strong> is justice understood as the foundation of social order, law and public ethics.<\/p>

                                                                                    These three concepts do not function separately. They form an inseparable system of values<\/strong> that defines the meaning of MUNS's existence. As St. Thomas Aquinas wrote: justice without wisdom can be cruel, wisdom without justice can be powerless.<\/p>

                                                                                    Ambition, innovation and values \u2013 the identity of MUNS<\/strong><\/p>

                                                                                    MUNS is a university with great ambitions and an innovative approach to education<\/strong>, but at the same time an institution deeply rooted in values: responsibility, ethics, service to people and the common good. We combine the dynamism of modernity with the durability of the classical academic ethos.<\/p>

                                                                                    Albert Schweitzer wrote: \u2018Example is not one of the methods of education \u2013 it is the only one.\u2019 The MUNS coat of arms is just such an example \u2013 a visual testimony to what kind of university we are becoming and what responsibility we are taking upon ourselves<\/strong>.<\/p>
