Historical overview of the University

History of the University

  • Our university has over 25 years of tradition in education.
  • Beginnings: The university was established as the Higher School of Management and Entrepreneurship in Łomża by decision of the Minister of National Education on 23 June 1997. It was affiliated with the Bogdan Jański University in Warsaw and became the second institution in Poland, after Warsaw, belonging to the Jański University Complex, which has been operating since 1993.
  • Patron and Mission: Bogdan Jański (1807–1840), a Polish activist of the Great Emigration and founder of the Congregation of the Resurrection, became the patron of the University of Management and Entrepreneurship. The university's philosophy focuses on educating leaders and managers in accordance with the ideas of its patron: Goodness – Truth – Effectiveness.
  • Headquarters: The university is located in a historic building at 9 Krzywe Koło Street, which originally, since 1925, was the seat of the College of Saint Fidelis of the Capuchin Fathers. The building was purchased by the university in the second half of the 1990s.
  • Change: Until 2025, the university operated under the name Jański University in Łomża, offering full-time, part-time (extramural) and postgraduate studies. It is entered in the register of non-public universities under number 117.
  • New chapter:
With the new academic year 2025/26, the name of the University has changed to
